The Concept

You don’t have to go to Australia to write your story! Let your imagination, combined with research, soar and pen your masterpiece now.

It’s great fun. All you have to do is:

  1. Write a short story in about 3,000-4,000 words with reference to any Australian location and incorporate the theme of Australian food experiences. It’s up to you how you want to write it as long as these requirements are met.
  2. Write using any theme or in any genre.
  3. Entries are limited to two (2) submissions only and must be sent via this website.
  4. Selected entries will have a chance to be adapted into in international movie or telemovie. That's why we are unique. That's why WriteTales is so much more exciting than the ordinary short story contest!
